Race Information
The racing is scheduled to start at 1300hrs GMT on Saturday 11th January and full schedule of racing will be emailed to all entrants as soon as possible after the close of entries.
If you are planning on doing your race from an unusual and interesting location let us know.
Pam from Digital Rowing has been very busy putting on rowing sessions on Oarbits (Digital Rowing’s internet racing section) in preparation of the event and thanks everyone who has participated ahead of racing. If you haven’t tried an rowing session on Oarbits and are a little unsure as to how it all works let either Pam ([email protected]) or Simon ([email protected]) know and they will help you through your first sessions.
Remember you can personalise some of the features of the competitor, boat and blades graphics. For instance you could put your countries flag on the spoon of the blades. To make changes to your user settings go to 'Control Centre' then 'Color Studio'.

Main features
Personalized training plans
RowPro has a built-in Training Plan Wizard that creates personalized training plans for competition, fitness and weight control based on your profile and training intentions. All the training plans have been designed exclusively for RowPro by world-class training guru Jon Ackland of Performance Lab International.
Direct PM3 or PM2+ connection
RowPro has a direct 2-way connection from your PC to the Performance Monitor on your Concept2 Indoor Rower. This enables RowPro to set up and sequence you through highly effective training workouts without you ever needing to push any buttons on the Performance Monitor, plus it enables your results, including splits, intervals and even stroke data to be logged automatically in your RowPro rowing log.
3D Animation
RowPro has true 3D on-water rowing animation that tracks your stroke action and shows you excellent stroke technique as you row every stroke. Just put your RowPro PC on one side of the flywheel and a mirror on the other side, then match your stroke timing and technique to the on-screen rower as you row. It's like having an Olympic rowing coach beside you while you row.
Enhanced feedback
RowPro has an on-screen PM twin that's easily visible even in low light conditions, plus charts that track your heart rate and pace and show target bands. This enables you to stay in the correct heart rate and stroke rate bands that match the type of training you're doing, to ensure you get the intended training effect.
Personal digital rowing log
After each row, your session results, splits and even stroke data are all automatically recorded in your own personal digital rowing log in RowPro. From there you can view your session results in table or chart form, print them out, upload them to the Indoor Sport Services Online Ranking, and track your cumulative training metres.
Performance analysis
RowPro enables you to compare two similar rows to see what's changed. Split-by-split comparison charts show how much your pace and heart rate have improved over time, and expert training advice from Jon Ackland gives you the insight you need to adjust your training or correct performance issues.
Rowfiles
You can upload results directly from RowPro to your Indoor Sport Services Online Logbook to participate in challenges or to contribute your meters to an online club like RowPro Rowers. From there you can send your best rows to the Indoor Sport Services Online Ranking, where other RowPro users can download them and use them to animate a boat in another lane, then compete with that boat stroke by stroke.
Coaching clinic
Top Olympic Rowing Coach Brian Hawthorne has worked with Digital Rowing graphics animators to create a precision 3D rowing animation that shows excellent stroke technique up close and in slow motion. While you watch and learn, you can read Brian's easy-to-follow expert coaching instructions covering the Catch, the Drive, the Finish, the Recovery and Stroke Rate. There simply isn't a better grounding in stroke technique available.
Virtual racing
Now for some serious fun! RowPro enables you to race up to 3 competitors, each of which can be a smart pace boat, or one of your own past rows, or other people's past rows that you've downloaded from the Indoor Sport Services Online Ranking. Just think of the possibilities! What better way to prepare yourself for race day competition?
XP, Vista & 7
You can run RowPro on almost any modern Windows XP, Vista or 7 computer
